About
Named after the field of flowers it once was, Campo de’ Fiori is now a bustling flower, fruit, and vegetable market. It stirs awake in the wee hours of the morning and slowly comes to life with vendors peddling fresh produce, dried fruit, souvenirs, and more. Most stalls close by early afternoon, so visit early. Once dusk falls, the area takes on a different kind of lively vibe, with al fresco restaurants and cocktail bars filled to the brim. Campo de’ Fiori is located close to Piazza Navona and the Pantheon and is often included as a stop when you join the Jewish Ghetto tours or food groups. – Tripadvisor

The area
Neighbourhood: Parioli
Young and well-to-do families are the street flavour of Parioli. A new kind of Rome, this area is centuries away from the Renaissance with its pockets of 1930s palaces, tony boutiques, open-air markets and plenty of coffee shops. Parioli was built as an enclave for last century’s haute bourgeois and still represents as such in 21st century Rome. Need a break? The area has several great sporting clubs known for tennis and riding, a wonderful modern art museum, easy access to the zoo (Europe’s oldest), and is nestled around Rome’s very best parks including Villa Borghese, Villa Ada and Villa Glori.

    Great menu, food and service
Great cocktail menu, very good strawberry daiquiris! Mega tasty lasagne and cacio e pepe, and really nice and friendly service. (4.5 stars, if you could give half stars)

    One of Rome's charming squares
This is an atmospheric market square and popular place for tourists to visit during visits to Rome. There is a daily food and food product market held in the square from 7am to 2pm (Mon to Sat). Campo de' Fiori is lined with eateries, artisan and boutique shops adding charm to the square. There is an interesting fountain in back as well as a sombre monument to Giordano Bruno, the monk and free thinking philosopher who was burned at the stake in 1600 during the Italian Inquisition. It is a nice market and square, worth spending some time to explore along with the neighbourhood streets nearby.

    A very nice market
The market is quite authentic, with quality products, often Italian. But be careful, not everything is cheap and you can spend a lot of money quickly. There is a very large selection of balsamic vinegar, spices, and vegetables. All around the market, restaurants with colorful terraces are crowded.

    Definitely worth a visit.
Absolutely fabulous fruit, vegetable, meats, fish, cheeses, gadgets, clothing open air market in the heart of Rome. Wonderful goods for sale. Reasonable prices. So much to see and purchase. Much better than a supermarket. Fruit smoothies, olive oil, truffles, tapenade, pestos. Unbelieveable amount of goods. We went on a Sunday around 11 am. Definitely worth a visit even if you're not in the market to purchase anything. We ended up sharing a mango, pineapple, banana smoothie...so delicious.

Beautiful and lively market square in the morning, meeting point of Roman nightlife in the evening. Beautiful and fascinating the surrounding context of the premises and historic buildings, controlled from above by the statue of Giordano Bruno. Here you can breathe Romance.

Drop by the Point of Sale.
The origin of the name probably dates back to the Middle Ages, when this area was covered by a vast prairie. Later the square became a meeting place with many taverns (such as the "Hostaria della Vacca", which belonged to Alexander IV's mistress, from the union with which Lucrezia Borgia was born). At the center of the square, where a lively Point of Sale is held every morning, is the statue of Giordano Bruno, a heretical monk condemned to the stake.

Vendors by morning, dining by night
We rented a VRBO overlooking this area and found it very charming. Very early in the morning the vendors set up for somewhat of a farmer's market. Around 4:30pm they begin to take things down. You are able to bargain with most of the vendors. In the evening, all the restaurants place outdoor seating and it is very enjoyable. I would really recommend this area to stay, as it is very walkable to all the major attractions.

Roman cuisine, correct, very tasty, a step from the square. We were inside, very well taken care of. The spectacular focaccia, amazing surprise with something like this, but freshly made in the oven that you can see working when entering towards the toilets. The chef stretching and cutting pasta in the middle of the street is a sight.

Popular Dining and Drinking Spot at Night
Popular piazza that has a fruit and vegetable market by day and becomes a dining and drinking destination at night. Restaurants line the edges of the piazza and offer outdoor dining. It's a picturesque spot but we stopped by on a weekday night in November and it was pretty quiet. I suspect it is livelier on the weekend.

I had this craze of knowing the market of Campo de'Fiori, well it was a huge let down. The market that I saw in the travel videos had nothing to do with seeing it in person. It was faux market ready for tourist traps all over the place. The market is run by mostly Bangladeshi vendors and others from many other countries. They are selling spices, fruits etc., the one thing I would recommend is the juice and cut fruit. But look at the prices since they were sky high. The place around it was very nice and we did get to enjoy the site and knowing the truth about this market. I do recommend that you go and check it out for yourself and don't fall into the hype nor false appearance of this market.

Campo de Fiori is a fun piazza to visit for the morning market, the cafes, bakery and delis.
Every foodie walking tour will include this piazza but you can just as easily wander through on your own and you’ll find everything yourself.
The 2 highlights for me are the Forno Campo de’ Fiori bakery and Antica Norcineria Viola, a traditional deli. The bakery has the best pizza, sold in large slabs, hot from the oven and the deli has a wonderful range of cured meats and sausages (see separate reviews on both).
The best to time your visit is in the morning, because the market is held then. By 2pm, it’s too late and the market stalls are starting to be dismantled. The market fills the piazza and is mostly fresh food, fruit and veg and flowers, as well as fresh juices, cheeses, meats, bread and dried pastas. We liked the freshly squeezed pomegranate juice and the fruit salad cups.
You’ll find foodie souvenirs dried pastas, spices, balsamic vinegar, limoncello, liqueurs.
In the past when we have stayed in an apartment, we have often come here to pick up fresh food for cooking.
A number of stalls sell cheap clothing, lots of hats, sunglasses etc but these are not very special and there are a lot of ‘I Love Rome’ souvenir T-shirts. What you will find here is pretty much the stuff you’d expect to find at any similar street market.
In the centre of the piazza is a strange statue of a hooded figure, looking very much like he could’ve stepped straight out of Assassin’s Creed. This is Giordano Bruno and he’s got every reason to look gloomy as he is standing on exactly the same spot where he was burnt to death in 1600. A Dominican priest, he was also a philosopher, cosmologist and mystic. However 1600 was a dangerous time to haven spouting radical ideas. He was condemned as a heretic and was arrested and burnt alive.
GETTING THERE: Campo de Fiori is only a short walk from Piazza Navona so you can easily combine the two piazzas.

Once it was simply a simple flowery meadow, which gave the name of "Campo de 'Fiori", until the fifteenth century the animals grazed there.
This square was non long ago one of the most picturesque places in the city.
Located near Piazza Farnese, on the road to Piazza Navona, it still has maintained a little of old charm of ancient Rome, animated every morning by a picturesque market with its wooden stalls.
The rest of the day, its numerous bars and terraces give life to the place. In the evening, many young Romans gather around the statue of Giordano Bruno, to relax, talk, have a beer, talk and make noise..
We know this square very well, which has lost its authenticity over time.
The stalls, except for a few, are all arranged to sell poor quality products to tourists.
There is a good cinema, a historical cinema, an oven and bakery with good baked goods ... and that's it.
They are just memories ..

Rick Steves' Heart of Rome walk starts with this square. It used to have a food market in the mornings, but now is filled with high-margin merchandise (little bottles of stuff, etc.). The monument to Giordano Bruno, a famous heretic who was executed in 1600, is here. This is the place where the freewheeling protests often take place, and the statue was reportedly placed here to annoy the nearby Vatican.

A lively market to walk through, to get a souvenir, or refuel during our walking tour. We found this market in our first trip to Rome a few years ago and I have been back every time I visit. You can get a refreshing smoothie, fruits, oil, pasta, etc. in the market, be entertained by a kitchen gadget vendor, or peruse the shops around the market and sit down for a meal in a nearby restaurant.

This is entirely a tourist trap. Beware! It looks lovely, but, check prices on google before buying. We foolishly purchased Gusto Balsamico Rose 250 ml priced at 65 euros. It can be purchased online for $24!!!! Same with Limoncello and Crema di Pistachio. Our advice is look around, enjoy the stalls, take photos, and keep walking.

Experience this place as a flower, fruit and veg market during day time. Don't get sucked into the vendors (the ones that sell everything else but flowers, fruits and vegs) as they could be quite aggressive. Come at night and you will see this place transfers to something very different. The restaurants, cocktail bars and terraces around the market are fabulous places for romance or meetings of any kind, along with sightseeing of sunsets.

Lovely outdoor food market. We bought six bags of pasta for $20 to bring home as gifts. Fresh fruit and veggies available. Jars of pesto, olive oil and more.
