Located next to the alter on the right side of the church is a statue of Moses carved by the great master Michelangelo. Originally commissioned by Pope Julius II for his tomb, the beard alone is worth the trip for Michelangelo fans.

Some of the finest example of Michelangelo's work are found in this church. It is right behind the Colosseum or could be also reached easily from the Church of S.Maria Maggiore. Be aware it is uphill!

A must see for believers. The chains that bound St Peter in Herod's jail are on display at the altar. Michangelo's Moses is a must see also.
