We happened to meet Alexander whilst going on the palatine hill tour, he was incredible and told us so much whilst also being funny and interesting. He told us about a walking tour of room which he was doing the next day and we jumped at the opportunity! Alex took us through the back streets of rome and into cafes... More

By chance we did the Palatine Hill and Forum tour with Alex and had such a great time we instantly booked the Mystery's at dusk tour. On both tours Alex brought Roman and Renaissance Rome to life likening so much to our current ways of life. Informatively put with great knowledge, enthusiasm and passion, we went to places well of... More

We first met Alexander while doing a tour of Palatine Hill. We were so impressed with his tour presentation that we (4 of us) decided to join his Mysteries of Rome Tour later that evening. Even though it was pouring down rain that night Alex made the tour fun and exciting. He is so knowledgeable and has a wonderful and... More

Alexander takes a different approach to the whole touring thing. He takes you off the beaten track and shows you hidden places that have incredible stories but have fallen into the shadows amidst major sites like Vatican City and the Colosseum. You leave feeling special for being aware of these secrets. As well, you leave with a full stomach because... More

Entertaining, entertaining, entertaining. Interesting tour if not the longest. Treating us to an espresso on the way was a nice touch. Excellent.

My husband and I stumbled upon this tour when we walked down to the Colosseum. It seemed like good value for the two part tour and skipping the lengthy queue sealed the deal. The Colosseum tour itself was OK. A knowledgeable guide but nothing groundbreaking was revealed, and for me at least, a little mundane. The Palantine Hill was a... More

We stumbled upon Alex Mariotti by chance when we went to the Colosseum and signed up for a tour of the Colosseum and the Palantine to avoid the huge queue for the colosseum. Our tour guide for the Colosseum was good and very interesting but it was when we went across to the Forum and met Alex that it moved... More

My husband and I took the Colosseum tour (two parts, included the Palantino and Forum) from another, unknown tour guide. While we were happy we were able to skip the extremely long line and glean a few tidbits of extra info from our guide, we had difficulty understanding her and the group inexplicably kept growing from 20 to 100+ by... We were referred to Alex by our guide from the Forum and Palatine hill. We did not know what to expect but were up for an adventure. Alex showed us the real beauty of Rome and wound great stories along the way. We visited churches that we had just walked past without knowing of their beauty and history. He certainly... More
