Beautiful historical architecture, right by the compendium, buried tomb of Raphael, and rochelle. The nearby Senegal booloo gooloos are friendly .

This obelisk is close to the Pantheon. It is an Egyptian obelisk, one of many brought to Rome during the Rome Empire. The interesting part is the elephant statue, made by Bernini. Minerva was the Roman goddess of wisdom.

An obelisk astride an elephant designed by Bernini. So much to think about it and what it says about Bernini's views on religion. Strange and beautiful at the same time

Obelisco della Minerva is a lovely sculpture in a nice setting, near the Pantheon. The obelisk stands on an elephant, which is quite lovely as well.

A small gem behind the pantheon and in front of the Santa Maria church: not only is a welk sculpted elephant with an excavated Egyptian obelisk on its back nice to behold, but it is a Bernini sculpture as well!

Near the Pantheon, this obelisk is unique because of its elephant base. I enjoyed just seeing it and taking a few photos. You will too.

The obelisk is on the top of a lovely elephant statue of Bernini. Just behind the Pantheon. If you visit the Church Santa Maria sopra Minerva you can't miss it.
