You can easily access the church by metro (exit at Circo Massimo) or by bus. Easy to find and fun to do. Definitely a tourist spot, but we only waited about 10 minutes in line. Please know that you exit through the church, so you...More

This is good for taking a souvenir picture, but is very commercial and tucked away behind a small barred area. It's not the prettiest of places on a busy road, but it's got a good story to it.

I love the principle of putting your hand in and not being able to remove it if you don't tell the truth. It's not the easiest place to find and a semi decent sat nav is needed. It's free to get in and you are...More

Certainly very touristy and if it wasn't for engaged kids we certainly would not have spent over an hour queuing. Novelty spot it Rome - kids can be taken through piazza to engage them a bit if you like.

We got a bus here from piazza Venezia. The building on the outside was boarded up slightly so unsure where to get off only by seeing the que of people. There doesn't seem much round there. There are guys controlling the que and ensuring people...More

It's free, but also popular, so be prepared to wait in line for your Photo Op to stick your hand in the mouth

My mind was boggled yesterday. The Bocca della Verita is an intriguing sculpture with a whimisical tale and deep connection to one of my favorite movies: Roman Holiday. But ... what got me yesterday is that it's upwards of 30 degrees-C, the sun is blazng...More

The entrance is on the river side of the church. Look for the long line! The line moves fairly quickly and there is no charge for the attraction. As previous reviewers mention, you can see it from outside the gate without getting in line, but...More

We stayed nearby at Ripense in Trastevere and passed by on our of our days exploring the city. The location opens at 9.30am so we were a little early and didn't manage to get a close up photo of the Mouth of Truth, but managed...More

Went here in May 1 when most other attractions in Rome were closed. The line was crazy long but luckily we sneaked a little peak from the side of the line and didn't have to go inside.

Aventine
Contrary to the chaos of the city, the Aventine is
Rome’s oasis. A neighbourhood made up of a patchwork
of ancient churches, hidden gardens, private homes and
embassies, peace and quiet is top priority and the
vibe definitely friends and family. Take a walk around
the Aventine and you’ll find a treasure hunt of
surprises like the clever little keyhole at the
Knights of Malta entrance (the only place you’ll find
