Just steps away from the chaos of the centre, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighbouring Borgo, Prati is a local favourite for its aesthetic organisation and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but thatās only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.

My friend and I found Cola di Rienzo via Trip Advisor tips because we were looking for some less expensive shopping in Rome. We decided to walk around here in the morning before heading to the Vatican for a tour.
This area is so, so cute! A lot of chain stores that you'd find in America, but also a really pretty and authentic flower/fruit market, some cool Italian boutiques, and some really unique outdoor vendors. One man in particular made really amazing brass jewelry (5 euro for a pair of earrings). I definitely recommend this area!

You'll see Romans strolling, dogs walking, and people shopping. Upscale shops but not crazy expensive designer boutiques. There is a parallel road, that has less expensive shops too, and some good shoe shops at the top of the street on the piazza that is a transit hub.

Cola is one of the great shopping streets of Rome with many great brands such as la gente, Zara home, Benetton etc. but not only. Also great shopping for shoes and eternity Pisano is brilliant for the gentlemans dressing. Near to the Vatican and castel sant'angelo you can't go wrong.

If you are looking for shopping in Rome , but do not want the relly exoensive shops try the cola di rienzo , lovely array of shops , cafe's and all things you would find on a shoppin street from clothes to flowers , to toys and kitchen wear, oh and if you get tired , try route 66 cafe , fabulous and reasonalble, and open early for breakfast , (try their croissants).

My hotel was in Prati, and Via Cola di Rienzo is the main thoroughfare. It's far away from the touristy area across the river, so there's a more genuine feeling here; this is where Roman citizens come to eat and shop and stroll. There's high-end stores, a large department store (Coin Excelsior), a fantastic fresh food market, great food shops such as Franchi's, and restaurants. There are no tourist sights on this street. Most of the buildings are imposing 6-7-storey-high 19th-century blocks, with some from the Mussolini era.
The pleasure of walking along this street is window-shopping. Frequently there are benches to sit on and rest. Bus connections to the historic part of the city are good. They run east through Piazza Cavour and then across the River Tiber. There are Metro stops (Ottaviano and Lepanto) just a couple of blocks north.
I found the most wonderful enclosed fresh produce market on this street. It's called Mercato Rionale, in a 1920s building. I literally lived here, buying up half their fresh produce! An added bonus is that St Peter's and the Vatican are just a stone's throwĀ away.

I love to walk on that street because it is not a touristic point. Lots of local italian's meeting point. Very nice shop with reasonable price

It's the most important street which cuts through Romeās commercial Prati neighborhood, and one of the best known streets for leisurely shopping in the city.
It is a long, straight avenue, primarily a shopping destination, with clothing stores, Italian shoe shops, movie theaters and coffee shops lining the street.
The Romans used to shop in that street which was famous for its elegant shops and nice restaurants in its neighborhood.
It was the less expensive alternative to the major and luxury shopping area in the very heart of Rome, with its world-known and iconic streets like Via Condotti, Via Frattina and via Borgognona.
Nowadays the situation has changed a lot, the best one-brand stores have closed down or moved somewhere else.
Less fancy and unexpensive shops have replaced them overnight.
Some street stalls and vendors started to appear on both sides of the street, making it much less attractive.
Still Via Cola di Rienzo attracts a lot of locals and tourists who like to have a stroll, especially during the weekends, and enjoy a quick bite or ice cream from unexpensive food joints which have come out like mushrooms.

I loved this street which was my daily commute to walk through it. It has all needs and all the stores for daily quick requirements.

this appears to the tourist as a relaxed area, everyboby slows down and start walking, looking around, having shopping and making pause by the frenetic roman life...

Stayed near this street, its very good has everything, from Tobacco to Mercedes Smart cars, but donāt forget the little streets found loads of lovely things when I visited here

Si trova a circa 15 minuti a piedi. Si cammina sul fiume Tevere al ponte di Porto Cavour e poi si raggiunge in circa cinque minuti a piedi per raggiungere l'inizio della Cola Di Rienzo. la Cola Di Rienzo ĆØ lunga circa 12 blocchi e termina a San Pietro in Vaticano.
