    Blew my mind!
This place blew my mind! It’s small enough to see everything in a short time and big enough to contain hundreds of pieces of world renown paintings & sculptures as well as (thousands?) of pieces of other ancient Roman items. I wanted to visit specifically for the Carravagios and was extatic to so many other works of art. I highly recommend a visit. You must buy your tickets ahead of time and be sure to bring them with you. Even in December when tourism is at it’s lowest, the tickets were sold out for that day (we bought ours a couple months prior). Although I took a few pictures, my photos don’t so this place justice. Also, there are plenty of post cards and books available if you want photos.

I was able to see some amazing works of art right in front of my eyes.
This time, I made the reservation while I was in Japan, so I was able to enter smoothly. It was a wonderful experience to be able to see the top-class sculptures, paintings, and art books right in front of me without any fences or glass. I was amazed at the sense and keen eye of the cardinal who put together this collection, and that it was privately owned.

Book online and do so early!
Stunning! Not just the paintings but also the rooms in itself. Two hours is enough time to see everything without to hurry it. The time excludes the bookstore! The galleria has a perfect management of crowds, far better than the Vatican museums! It allows you to freely walk around the rooms and really *see* the paintings . It comes at a cost: Do book your ticket online and do so as early as possible.

    A wonder, but....
I appreciated this use more than the Baticani Museums but I advise you to pay attention to the ticket office staff: there was a person who "disparaged" and complained about the time wasted with two foreigners, to whom he "had" to give information. Maybe you should remind the aforementioned that she is paid to do it..., it doesn't make us look good to the rest of the world!!!

Go there, but maybe consider / research in advance how best to use your limited time there.
Wonderful place! I had already recommended it to someone going to Rome soon but told them to start with the sculptures, then view the paintings. It does depend on preferences, I know, but we found that we were so blown away by the sculptures that we could have spent all the allocated time there. Make sure to bring ID if you want to get an audio guide. Buy tickets in advance.

Incredible Museum With Great Roman & Bernini Works!
This is truly one of the best museum experiences we have had! The works of Bernini and collection of ancient Roman works is truly phenomenal! Wonderfully preserved Roman statues, frescoes and mosaics. And we had the good fortune of being there for the Rubens exhibit integrated into the rest of the above works. Exceptional! Arrange your tickets WAY in advance; and I don’t mean a few weeks before, since the number of visitors is limited. There is a “wait” line, but it is long and not good odds. BOOK AHEAD! You truly do not want to miss this. The grounds are also beautiful. Walking distance from the hotels on the Via Veneto (less than a half mile from the Pinciana gate). Also easy to get a FreeNow taxi back from the side gate near the villa. DON”T MISS!

Incredible works of art and rooms. Just be prepared for dealing with the crowds.
Lives up to its reputation. Unbelievable quality and quantity of art and statuary. Must buy timed entry tickets way in advance. Must go thru metal detectors. Women must check handbags unless clear, see-through plastic. Plan it right and you won't be disappointed.

    Fantastic gallery!
Fantastic gallery. It was one of the most beautiful places to visit in Rome. Although tickets are sold out, the Gallery allows 13 extra people to enter every hour. Even though we waited 1h30, it was worth it. Furthermore, it was Women's Day, and we didn't pay entry. It was an indescribable experience. We loved it

Very popular, book early to ensure entry
I admit that I didn't want to visit, I was growing weary of more sculptures and paintings. My opinion was changed after doing the guided tour. The 90 minutes felt like 10 and the guide was so impressive bringing out aspects that you would otherwise never have noticed. If you will be mesmerized by Pluto's abduction of Proserpina. You will need to book well in advance to ensure entry.

Book ahead, you’ll thank me for it
Do yourself a favour and book a ticket in advance. It’s currently mid March and they’re taking bookings for April. There’s nothing left for March. So I waited in Lloyd for a no-show, and after three hours I got in. I strongly recommend booking a ticket beforehand.. The sculptures and paintings are amazing and well worth the cost of the mission which is around €18.

Needless to say the inside of the building and art work is amazing but to get there you have to negotiate some very rude unhelpful staff. We had not booked ahead as quiet so went straight to ticket office and greeted by a lady who was very brisk and stern. We paid for tickets only to find the time slot we had been given had started half an hour previously so less time to look round. We then were told we could not take bags in. I said I was not prepared to leave hand bag and they said that was fine. Put our large bag into left luggage. We then got to entrance to be told we had to take our water bottles back to luggage. Person at luggage not willing to take water bottles as not allowed but we could see some in other peoples left luggage. We asked for our bag back put water in it and handed bag and said she would have to take as had taken others. Reluctantly she agreed. When we got back to entrance (having now lost another 15 mins) a new guard was at entrance and said we were not allowed our hand bags! I explained their colleague had said we could just no water and that I was not leaving it in left luggage. Reluctantly they let us in! Most others had hand bags and camera bags etc. Our impression of the gallery was now spoilt and we were left annoyed. Overall a lot of money for what it is. Outside the park is wonderful full of happy people and great statues and fountains so have a lovely walk and save your money.

There are lots of people that visit this location, so it must be doing something right. With all the effort of having to reserve a ticket in advance, I do not see how this place is anything better than the hundreds of other museums in Rome. It would be just as nice to walk the gardens surrounding the location than having to walk through the mansion with the typical gallery of art

A Catholic Cardinal actually lived in this villa and used his wealth or should I say fleeced the sheep to buy possibly the greatest collection of private art ever assembled. The Villa is in the center of a park and botanical garden that is worth a walk through. The Villa itself is an artwork of mosaics and plasterwork. We especially enjoyed the sculptures of Bernini and the Caravaggio and Bellini paintings. We have visited twice.
Make sure to buy your ticket in advance and be there at least 20 minutes before your entry time. The staff has to handle getting a lot of people through a limited amount of gallery and do not have the luxury of meeting all your individual needs. In other words be on time and respect the system they have in place. If possible take no purse or hand bag as it requires a sometime long wait in line to check carry items into the cloak room. The downstairs area where you get tickets, is cramped due to the constraints of the building. Patience is helpful. The audio guide is well worth the price and brings each piece of art to life with the background story. You will not be disappointed in the setting or the art!

Our grand daughter was spending a college semester in Rome, so my wife and I decided to visit her during November, 2019. I asked our grand daughter what she would like to see with us, and she said "something beautiful". Many sights in Rome are historic, many are interesting, but none is more beautiful than Galleria Borghese. The rooms are sumptuously decorated from floor to ceiling- including the floors and ceilings. And the painting and sculptures are dazzlingly beautiful. The many sculptures by Bernini are the most lovely I have seen anywhere. The Galleria is among the most beautiful, even enchanting, places I have visited.
The audio guide is definitely one of the best anywhere. And the cafe is first rate.
You MUST buy tickets online well in advance of your visit. By well in advance I mean weeks, preferably, more than a month in advance. Admission is only at certain times and only for two hours- then you must leave. I tried for tickets for a Sunday in November more than two weeks in advance and could not get tickets for 11am. I settled for 1:00 pm. And you need to be there ahead of time because the people with tickets start lining up at the door about 30 minutes before the door opens.
My grand daughter who spent 4 months in Rome and traveled all over Europe said the Galleria Borghese was the most beautiful place she visited. This was our fourth visit to Rome, and we agree with our grand daughter.

This was one of my favourite sites visited whilst in Rome. The quality of the artwork was absolutely spectacular and I felt I needed to have spent a full half day to adequately see everything. There were so many tours starting within 10 or 20 minutes of each other that the area in which you meet the guide was completely chaotic and very badly organised. The cloakroom was a disaster with queues of 40 plus people both to drop off and collect your belongings. The building and artwork however were so beautiful that I would still recommend a visit.

We had an option, the Borghese or interior of the Colosseum and since we had walked around the Colosseum, the Borghese and incredible sculpture won, and I'm so glad. It was incredible to see so many incredible works in one place. It was open on a day not normally open because the first Sunday of the month the museums and architectural sites are free to the public (so our skip the line passes weren't useful at all). We did not have a tour so were able to focus on our interests and loved every minute. I was with my 23 yr old son who is very interested in art and history and it was a great time together. There is a limit to the number of people allowed so plan your time ahead, then take extra time to walk the gardens.

A fantastic museum where you can admire the works of the greatest artists: painters and sculptors, such as Bernini, Rafael, Caravaggio, Titian and Rubens. The museum is filled with beautiful sculptures, paintings and frescoes. Really beautiful art collection. But remember, the gallery requires booking tickets earlier, due to interest in the gallery you can spend two hours inside. After 2 hours you will be asked to leave the museum rooms .You cannot bring bags / rucksacks to the museum (there is a cloakroom on site, where you have to leave everything). Also there is a toilet and restaurant on site. I heartily recommend this place, especially since it can be combined with a pleasant walk to Borghese Park.

The galleries are magnificent and well worth the visit, but I don't understand the expensive "Skip the Line" tickets. Everyone has to have a timed ticket...there should not be a line to enter. The cost of a ticket purchased through the Gallery itself is only 22 Euro, but all of these tours are double that. Are they really "tours" or just inflated ticket prices?

We visited the gallery with a pre-purchased ticket for a specific time. The guide to the exhibition gave 2 hours for the full guided tour of the exhibition.
Arriving we found no queues at the entrance. We waited for the exact time of entry, after we delivered our bags to the designated place. Our entrance after checking in our tickets was easy. We began our walk through the halls with the amazing works of art that we had been informed about by the internet. In each space there is a museum curator. Fortunately there was air conditioning and this made our stay pleasant. The Gallery contains works of all categories, such as paintings, sculptures, decorations and more. At the end you can find souvenirs of the Museum in the shop at reasonable prices, depending on your choices. The gallery has a café with several items. Unfortunately the cafeteria does not have air conditioning and this was not good for the month of July. Despite the heat we sat for a while in the cafeteria. I went out of the normal exit to photograph the near buildings and gardens. I tried to re-enter from the same door and was noticed by some guys who were seemingly guards, who indicated to me in the worst way that the entrance is the next door, although they had seen me when I came out. They themselves were sloppy and smoked by throwing the cigarette down at the exit, giving the worst image of the Gallery which stands out for its beauty and the excellent works it hosts. The gardens, as well as the near buildings, but also the Gallery itself need maintenance. The facade of the gallery is covered with special fabric with its full image printed, as it would be preserved.

The museum is set in a spectacular mansion with stunning artwork. You have to make a reservation in advance, and it's a little expensive, but it was by far the quietest museum we visited in Rome. It's worth mentioning that unlike many museums in Rome, all the signage is in Italian, so you definitely need a tour guide or an audio tour.

It's also a hassle to get there. We struggled to find this bus, and are pros at public transportation. I'd recommend paying for a cab to save yourself the struggle, as it's a bit far from the rest of the major sites.

If you have time and are into art, it's worth visiting. Otherwise, you won't miss anything if you skip it.
