We had trouble locating the Gianicolo Hill and came across this which we thought was the entrance to it. It wasn't. Or to Botancio is a small garden run by the Spaienza Universita Di Roma. The garden has a number of areas but doesn't take...More

Whilst there are areas that are good ~ cactus & Japanese Acer area ~ found overall to be disappointing.... After the gardens in Florence we visited we had an expectation.. It is a quiet location in a busy city but the overall experience was lacking.

Although this is just on the edge of Trastevere it is quite easy to forget you are actually in a city once you get inside the gates. The ticket office provides a leaflet which gives you a map of the gardens and suggested routes. There...More

Just off the beaten track that is the busyness of Trastevere. Helpful info in the leaflet, giving a suggested route around the various themes of exhibit. Then helpful info at these various points. Nice to have a rose garden on a bank rather than level...More

There is Paradise in Rome just 5 min walk from Trastevere. You can walk through Bamboo forest or meditate under Blossom trees in Japanese garden or just walk and look at all kinds of amazing plants and fountains surrounded by the scent of tropical flowers....More

A beautiful garden well away from the buzz of tourist Rome. Well mapped to allow those with less botanical knowledge learn. Take a picnic, there are tranquil spots available. Get off the bus at Castel St Angelo

Not the most beautiful botanical garden I have seen , but it is an incredibly peaceful place just behind Palazzo Corsini and the villa Farnesina. If, you happen to be there, do visit it. Having said that, I would not go out of my may...More

We specifically wanted to see these gardens and were definitely not disappointed. The garden is beautifully laid out and explanations of the different areas given along the route. I can only imagine how lovely it will look in high summer (we visited in March). Cheap...More

Badly mantained, dirty and deserted place. I hoped to see something beautiful. It was not the case. Maybe it the past it was something beautiful, but now, it was just sad and ugly. The lack of maintenance is visible. Dried plants, a omnipresent mess, and...More

Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded
postcard, a little worn around the edges but still
charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering
streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and
overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible
mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of
entertainment - a rotating set of street performers
entertains almost every night, and unforgettable
