Bernini's last stand (swan song) so to speak (he died at 81, not a bad trot) , designed by himself and finished by his school of sculptors. The intricacy/detail is exquisite.

This is a large and beautiful sculpture inside Saint Peter's Basilica that you must see it's a very imposing piece of art make a point to look out for it.

This is the entrance to the crypt where all the Popes are buried, as you walk round there are metal grids that you can see down into the crypts

This sculpture of Alexander VII by Bernini is incredible. A real labour of love. If you miss everything else (which would be a shame) make sure you see this and the Pieta.

Of all the monuments to see within St. Peter's Basilica, save La Pieta, I found myself looking at this one the longest. An unbelievably beautiful monument.
