Definitely worth a visit if you're in town. Beautiful symmetry in an X shape instead of cross-shaped. Not too ornately decorated.

This is definitely a must do in when in Ancona. The cathedral is very ornate and atmospheric. My wife and I had a short stop off in Ancona whilst on a TUI cruiser and we really enjoyed the visit to this beautiful building and its nearby stunning Bell Tower. It's a trek up lots of steps to get to but believe me the views alone are well worth the effort.

Beautiful cathedral with splendid view over Ancona bay. There's limited parking free for two hours. Benches and a green area behind, a good place to stop and rest. Or if you want a quick look at the centre of Ancona take the steps and then the lift at Palazzo degli Anziani.

Great views fro up here. The walk up to the Cathedral is OK, not too steep. And you will get the reward thorugh the views over Ancona town and the Adriatic ocean. The church itself is nothing special. There is a crypt with weird relicts, but nothing in particular.

Nice view from the top. A 15 minut walking tour from center. On the top not any souvenirs and drinks. But, view is excellent.

Starting from the center of Ancona, after a long uphill walk, you can admire this magnificent Romanesque cathedral. The cathedral is located right at the top of a hill overlooking Ancona from which you can see a wonderful view of the sea. Where Greek temples once dominated, Christianity has replaced them with this beautiful cathedral.
Definitely worth the visit, try it at sunrise or sunset for sure and very suggestive

Ancona was a stop on our MSC Cruise. We decided not to do an organised excursion and went for a wander on our own.

The cathedral is easy to find but, is a steep climb to the top. It was well worth it though and the views were stunning from the top.

The cathedral is beautiful, stunning architecture and the tourist train will take you to the top for 5 Euro.

The cathedral overlooks Ancona and is accessible by road or by walking. The building is truly beautiful. We were lucky enough to be able to go inside.

You can see this lovely cathedral from almost anywhere in Ancona - it is on a hill overlooking both the sea and the town. It's imposing and gives some fantastic views.. Very beautiful as well - both inside and outside. We thought the steps to the entrance and the entrance itself were particularly imposing.
The interior is well decorated and this is definitely a place to visit. You will not be disappointed.

We walked up to the cathedral on a very hot day, we were pleased we had taken water! The view from the building is well worth the walk.We didn't look inside as it was a Sunday and there was a service.
