Just walk in and get up-close and personal with the masterpieces, or do your homework beforehand, then understand and appreciate them in-depth (warning: there's much to know!).

Wonderful experience. A magnificent building, amazing art collection and all easily manageable. Tip: Visit if you can on a Saturday so that you can go up one of the Towers.

Our host recommended that we go to the basement area. Boy! was she right. The underground area is large, airy, spacious and shows how the workers prepared the food, cared for the horses and kept the whole palace functioning. self-guiding signs were helpful

Yes, indeed there is an English speaking guide available. If you can plan in advance and ask for him on the day you intend to visit it would be best.
