As major foodies, we wanted a tour of Bologna's food producers that really took us off the beaten path and this did not disappoint with visits to family run DOP producers for Parmigiano Reggiano, balsamic vinegar and prosciutto. Alessandro, our host and guide is the perfect combination of energetic passion and great insider knowledge. As he likes to say -... More

Outstanding day spent with Allesandro visiting Parmigiano, Balsamic and Parma ham factories. #DOP 😀 This tour was well organized, informative and above all else fun. I think I am still full from the million course delicious meal we were served at the end. I would not hesitate to recommend this tour to anyone in Bologna. Grazie mille Allesandro.

We had an amazing tour right from the initial booking ( great communications!) to being picked up from the hotel by Marco to a full day of learning, tasting and laughing with Alessandro! Alessandro was very knowledgeable, entertaining and passionate about his job. We thoroughly enjoyed our day and food tour! Highly recommended.

What an outstanding experience! I cannot speak highly enough of Alessandro and his tours. Alessandro was extremely enthusiastic, knowledgeable, personable, and funny! His tour was not only enjoyable, but very educational; I will re-evaluate the way in which I shop for some of my fave products, including #parmegianoreggiano, #prosciutto, and #balsamic...#DOP for life!!! The entire tour was really great. communication... More

We did the Bologna/ Emilia Romanga day food experience and it was wonderful! We were picked up promptly in a Mercedes mini van by our personal driver for the day and were taken to the Parmigiano Regianno (not Parmesan!) factory where we met our guide Allesandro. Alesandro is an amazing guide and so passionate about the food of his region.... More

Alessandro is an amazing tour guide. He is knowledgeable, energetic and funny. We saw making of Parmigiana Reggiano cheese, Balsamic vinegar and prosciutto ... and ate an awesome lunch at a restaurant with a lovely view of the Emilia-Romagna region. Totally worth the 7am meeting time!

I found this day tour by accident; on TripAdvisor it showed up near our hotel for some reason. It was bloody well worth it. Early morning pick up right outside our hotel, no other thought or effort required. Perfect for a day's break from navigating, negotiating and making decisions. We learned how they manufacture Parmigiano Reggiano D.O.P. before tasting some,... More

Meeting Alessandro Martini for the first time at 7.30 in the morning is like having a double espresso, twice in one go. He is as animated and bright as his jacket (in the photos). Only one other guest, an American lady by the name of Nancy (I think) nearly out-talked him on the trip. Alessandro runs the top-rated to-do activity... More

What a great day out! Eleonara, the guide was simply delightful and very informative. I learned so much about Italian food and it's production. The 'light lunch' at the end of the day was sensational. I highly recommend doing this tour.

We were unsure whether to book this tour as it was quite expensive and we only had a few days in Bologna. But we are so glad we did and it was worth every penny! Eleanora and Alexandra were fantastic guides, so enthusiastic and informative- right from the early start, to the birth of their 'bambino' parmigiana cheeses, through the... More
