You have to book a time slot in advance but there is no admittance fee. The way this memorial has been done is so respectful and atmospheric that you can not help but be moved by it.

touching and respectful setting, recreating the memories, thoughts and feelings connected to the itavia tragedy.
seeing the carefully reconstructed debris of the aircraft with my own eyes was unsettling and difficult but it was a meaningful experience. after 40 years remembering and being mindful is the only possible tribute.

Learn about the story that rocked Italy and created a political upheaval. See an amazing reconstruction of a crashed plane, a scene right from the movies!

For many it might not be that wow museum experience, as it consist of a hall with the plane and a small room with the story of making this memorial. But it is such a strong emotional experience that is worth to visit there even if it is not the usualy "we spend hours in a museum experience..."

Honestly this was a haunting experience. Before attending the museum I was really curious and therefore I had read people’s reviews online and I had a basic understanding of what happened. To be able to go to the museum and see the plane was out of this world. To hear the voices and imagine what those people went through was unforgettable. This is a must see museum. Yes the video is conducted in Italian but you can almost guess what was being said. It’s haunting to be in this museum but it’s worth the visit. Our hotel (Savhotel) was less than 5 minutes walk. Thoroughly enjoyed & would recommend seeing as admission is free.

So, trekked by foot the 30 min to get here. The exhibit is quite moving and you will see something you've never seen before, but it loses some of its impact if your Italian is not up to scratch (as you miss the effect of the introductory video and the peoples whispers as you walk around the plane.) Furthermore, I think it would have more importance if you were living in Italy at the time and remember the event well. That said, well worth visiting, but probably would not be on the top of my agenda if I only had limited time.

I walked all the way from the train station. Remember it was June. Very hot. It was hard to find the place with many contradicting boards. On reaching there, I found it closed and was told it would not open that day at all by the people next door; while the website said it would be open. Was depressing.

A very fitting tribute to a tragedy..... very little known outside of Italy. My children found the visit very informative. Overall a sobering visit but highly recommended

Dipende tutto dall'interesse che hai sull'argomento.
