I have nothing against the subjects mentioned above, but it does get a bit tiresome after a while. There were some other offerings, and the one by Leonardo da Vinci (face of a maiden) made it all worth it.

I was there on a solo tour. I paid € 10 at 1:15 and I knew I only have 45mins until 2pm close. I was well alert. The staff didn't say nothing and couldn't speak English- I didnt expect them to. However the whole time that I was at the gallery the staff was following me around and I couldn't... More

We enjoy visiting museums and galleries on our travels. This one has some exceptional works, now hung in modern galleries with well-designed lighting. But there is minimal information, and almost none in English so we didn't get as much out of our visit as we'd hoped.

There are some interesting art (pictures, sculptures, small objects). It's a part of the complete tour of Pilotta palace.

A range of paintings through the centuries. Rather weighted to religious "madonna e bambino" type but a range of other styles as well, something to please all art lovers. I'm not talking about modern, surrealist, etc, but "standard" landscape and portrait art.

There are some wonderful paintings in this gallery, if you can find them. Unfortunately a large part of the collection is hung in the former barns of the Palazzo della Pilotta, and you have to be sure of turning up at the right time in order to be allowed escorted access. You must then search through acres of canvas, the... More

Travelled on an early train from Milan to arrive for the morning as website states some rooms only open until 12pm. After purchasing tickets, entered through farnese theatre, only to be told that a show was being prepared and access was limited. Limited meant a glimpse through scaffolding from one corner. Went straight to rooms with limited morning access times,... More

Dedicated largely to local artists, I enjoyed visiting this gallery. As others have said, a large wing is closed due to lack of staff, but they do run hour long tours of the closed section at various times (I did one at noon). They may not advertise this if you are an English speaker, I was offered the tour when... More

Note - you have to climb 68 steps to get to the entrance to the Galleria Nationale which is part of a complex of attractions contained in the Palazzo della Pilotta, the others being the Farnese Theatre, the Museo Archeologico and the Biblioteca Palatina. In fact the Farnese Theatre is the entrance to the Galleria Nationale, hence the combined ticket.... More

Some nice works by 15th century Parma artists, some nice 5th century works, well kept collection. And one can also visit the Farnese theatre.
