The palazzo houses also a gallery with medieval paintings, most of which are copies. Not being a great fan of medieval art, I did not find it very exciting. The key thing in the Palazzo is the theatre.

Although small, this city art gallery has some extraordinary works in its collection. The two Cima di Conegliano paintings and the Leonardo sketch are worth the entrance price on their own.

The gallery is part of the Palazzo della Pilotta, which also contains the Farnese theatre. There are a lot of interesting works here but the outstanding one is a small portrait of a girl "La Scapigliata" by Leonardo da Vinci. Sublime

The Galleria Nazionale in Parma houses some great works of art in a dilapidated building, including paintings by Correggio and Parmigianino, and a drawing by Leonardo da Vinci. They are mostly religious medieval and renaissance paintings. These masterpieces would definitely deserve better management and at...More
