If your time in Parma is limited it is worth going here to see the teatro if nothing more. However it doesn't take too long to look at the exhibits in the national gallery at the same time.

Super building with tremendous character unfortunately did not have time to enter, but those who did said well worth a visit in particular the wood carvings

Some specialist say it is like the Palazzo Farnese in Piacenza. The only common thing is that both are huge, large and high rooms. The palace itself is nothing to see, but the museums are great.

The theater apart, this palace is not very interesting. The exhibitions do not have a lot to present. For that reason is suppose you have to go through them first before entering the theater.

The complex of Pillota is a must-see at Parma. It houses different spaces that address to its glorious days.

The Teatro Farnese is extraordinary. Vast timber C17 auditorium and stage which still houses plays and operas. The entrance ticket also takes you into the Galleria with some marvellous renaissance paintings not least a wonderful da Vinci panel painting which is worth the price of...More
