Extraordinarily well preserved mosaics from a Roman domus from the fifth-sixth centuries. Images are fascinating: they are not only pagan, they have curious contradictions. Geometric patterns are mostly what the floors are about but the impact is still stunning.

Great place to escape heat. Under a Church. Don't pay full single ticket price, but get the 3 attractions for 7 Euros (single 4Euro). It's not long, but good mosaics and view of a rich Roman villa split in between by a road. Only the...More

In the 1990s workers excavating a parking garage unexpectedly found the remains of a villa and some mosaics; I wouldn't be surprised if under Italian law they were obliged to preserve the archaeological find. In any case for the price of €4 you can now...More

The entrance fee is €4. We had the place almost to ourselves. We walked around it in about 15 minutes. No leaflet given to us with information on what we were about to see. Raised walkways with great lighting. Stunning mosaic floors. Somehow not seeing...More

One of the most impressive in situ displays of 5th-6th century floor mosaics. Just amazing to see up close. Recently discovered and meticulously excavated and maintained, well worth the visit! One of my top three favorite places in Ravenna.

14 mosaic floors from a Byzantine palace are worth a half hour visit. Two of the floors are exquisite. Not worth a long trek but definitely something to see to complete all the sites in Ravenna.

I somehow snuck into here for free... just breezed past the cashier/till. I'm kind of glad I did because even though the mosaic floor is lovely, all the extensive wall plaque information is only in Italian. It only takes about 5-10 minutes otherwise to see...More

We enjoyed this quiet underground excavation of the floor of an old Roman house. The mosaics are very nice, historically interesting, and you get quite close, plus there is some development of the house plan and how this all fits together. Not as breathtaking as...More
