This battistero is clearly less impressive than the other one but also certainly worth a visit (1 Euro now).

This is one of the few buildings still open that remain on the original old lower street level, and you walk down to enter, at what used to be street level. Only fragments of the original wall frescos remain, but the ceiling mosaic is spectacular,...More

Bit off the beaten track this one. Costs you 1 euro to get in, it is the best euro you will spend. Jesus being baptised, surrounded by the apostles. What more can you want? Awesome

A small site but well worth visiting. The mosaic on the ceiling illustrating the baptism of Jesus is stunning!

Stuns with its mediocrity. Its not worth to spend an euro on this waste of time. It's only a room with a little mosaic on the ceiling.

You don't need to be religious to be amazed at the workmanship on this mosaic, a beautiful work, enjoy.

This was my first stop on my day trip to the Ravenna mosaics. It wasn't the most spectacular but was a lovely place to start thinking about all the work that must have gone into creating these masterpieces. It is relatively small but lovely, nonetheless!

Spent some time in Ravenna touring the historic sites. Battistero Degli Ariani was our first stop. This tiny gem of a chapel offers a free taste of Ravenna's artistic heritage with a stunning mosaic ceiling under its octagonal dome. One of many relics of the...More

This is a gem. Not a must see, but if you're doing the mosaic route in Ravenna, don't miss it. Not as devastating as some other places but it's smaller, and there is something very moving about the central mosaic of Jesus's baptism (at least...More

The Battistero of the Arians is another place obligatory in Ravenna. Apart of the mosaics is surprising the original floor. The entrance is comprised in the 5 attractions of Ravenna.
