During this summer, we went to Ravenna 3 times and stopped twice at Dante' tomb to memorise what happened to him and especially what happened to the tomb during the World War and before. We were also curious to hear the 13 gongs from the...More

We went to see Dante's tomb whilst we were in Ravenna. It's a beautiful monument and you can see where Dante was buried for a year next to the mausoleum.

Never realized the magnitude of Dante on my children until we reached Ravenna. Having a difficult time finding his tomb, my daughter declared that we cannot leave Italy without visiting Dante's tomb. Timeless poet, thank you Dante.

Use a guide, or look up extra information in the internet, because the tomb doesn't give you much in terms of an explanation. The site itself is beautifully maintained and a big plus is that it is not so busy, not even at peak hours.
