This is a wonderful bridge and well worth seeing. At the moment they are renovating the surrounding area and by 2018 there will be a lovely walk around the lake. and along by the waterway. The bridge is quite narrow and cars stream across it...More

Other than the fact that it is 2000 years old, it is just an ordinary bridge which links one into the old town. The site is marred by some ongoing construction work on the bank facing the bridge.

How clever where Romans to built a bridge which can serve more than 2000 years! And waters of the salty sea and river didn't destroy it. They added volcanic ash and salty water cementing it.

Please don't rush to judge me for what I'm saying, but there's really nothing to look at here. I have seen magnificent ancient things and I'm not prejudiced against "old piles of rocks", but this is just it.
