There the Triestini breath fresh sea air and there they meet their friends. I was there in January when it was sunny but cold. It was crowded with families with children, with joggers and with dog walkers. In summer, it is packed with people sunbathing and swimming. It is a place to people watch, enjoy nature (very often there are... More

Unwind in the quaint seaside neighborhood of Barcola, where the saltwater breeze permeates the air, fishing boats line the harbor, and gelato stands line the shore. Quiet and charming, the area is ideal for long walks

We were so lucky to have our hotel along Barcola. We walked to the castle, watched many people and sunsets from our hotel balcony, and also along the promenade.Lovely.

Barcola is quite pleasant on a nice day for a long walk along the sea. While there are spots for sunbathing, its lacking a sand or pebble beach to enjoy so its limited as a typical afternoon at the sea. On the other hand, the large promenade goes on for a long stretch and you can enjoy a nice long... More

This paved walkway is long, streches up to the Miramar castle. It is the beach of the locals, every 200-300-meters there is a small pavilon where you can get some cool drinks and some food. If you take bus Nr. 6 - you can easily get there from city center.

This stretch of pavement is firmly anchored in the hearts of the local population. It's the closest thing Trieste has to a beach and one of the biggest parks in the city. As such during the summer it turns in a continuous strip of people tanning and many others trying to get fit in the near pineta. During the other... More

The most popular public beach. Clean, but without any possibility to change the cloths. You better use a bus or be ready to pay a substantial parking fee, if you are lucky to find a spot. A possible alternative: bathing facilities in the City. One of Them is funky, since it sticks to the rules introduced at the beginning of... More
