Scalinata Lardarina are stairs that connect the upper (old town) and lower (train station) parts of Corniglia, one of five towns in Cinque Terre National Park, in La Spezia Region, in the North of Italy. It is an historical staircase, from where you can see very beautiful views from surrounding, but the staircase is nice, not more. We use it if you want to go to two parts of the town by walk. We took the train from Monterosso and hiked up all the steps to the village. Well worth the effort. Stopped several times to admire the spectacular views of the Liguria coastline

The steps are numerous (about 400 of them) from the train station to the top of the hill at Corniglia, but the hike up the stairs are well worth it for the spectacular views. Corniglia was not as crowded with tourists as the other towns in the Cinque Terre, perhaps because of the steps to get there. In any event, my wife and I enjoyed our quick visit to Corniglia during our day trip to the towns of the Cinque Terre.

The bus is always full in the rush hours. Its a crazy stupid system making people wait in the midday heat for one bus which is not enough for all the tourists. One day there Will be riot.

A nice series of steps linking the town tot eh trin station. Take the bus right outside the train station for the uphill journey to the center of town. Then walk down on your return journey. Nice wide stairway with gentle steps.
