Either take the local train to Vernazza or the boat from Monterosso or Riomaggiore. Recommend you do not walk from Monterosso as this involves a good 90 minutes plus of steep inclines and descents with over 1000 steps to negoiate.......if is easier from Vernazza to...More

My favorite of the Cinque Terre. If you go to Vernazza, make an effort to see it from the hike from Monterosso (even if you don't hike the whole trail). That's the postcard view of it and man, it's worth the climb.

If you are driving from another town, prepare to park in Levanto or Monterosa & the train runs frequently but when it stops in Vernazza you may not see the sign @ station. Don't let take heavy luggage, large backpack is best.

I've heard people complain about the crowds in Vernazza but I have to say I loved it. It reminded me in some ways of Essaouira. Most of the tour groups arrive at the train station and go straight down the main street to the square...More

Of the 5 villages, this one was one of our favourites, lovely to be right on the water, perfectly clear water, clean beaches, super pretty place with gorgeous buildings staggered all over the hills. If you're visiting Cinque Terre please don't miss this one. We...More

Wish we could stay forever! Don't miss the track from Varnazza to Monterosso. So beautiful. I ran both ways at 7 am and was the first out. No fees and no travelers at this time. Absolutely stunning!

I visited Vernazza on a rainy day and I still can say that it is absolutely beautiful. This is a very small village that has its own natural port, where the views are gorgeous. This place is known for their hikes, so I definitely recommend...More

Nice little bay for swimming, and the second beach (unter the collapsing cliff) is also reecommended. Can get very packed when the ferry loads/unloads. Good choises for lunch or dinner. the fancy restaurant at the top of the tower is not recommended

Within the town? Not really. You could probably ride between the towns though.

The village is so small that you actually don't need any bus or crab. There's a lot of trains which make the connections with the biggest town such as La Speizia, Parma,... and with the others village (Riomaggiore... More
