Portofino unveils its full beauty from the top! Allocate enough time to climb the wonderful route heading to the castle. As you walk up, you will come across several stops for breathtaking photos. When you arrive at Portofino you can spend time mingling with people in the main passage of the small village. There are, however, a number of other... More

It was well worth the climb to reach this beautiful place. The castle itself was very interesting especially the list of guests that stayed over the years. Best place to take photos of the bay and village

During my recent 7 day painting holiday to Rapallo I took my small group of leisure painters to paint here on a day trip to Portofino. What a little gem of a painting location it is. It was a breathtaking artistic experience for my art group with so many possible views to paint. Only took 30 minutes to get there... More

You have to walk up a little but it's worthwhile. You may try the different paths, at least return in a different one of the one used to get there. Not many thing to observe related to the castle itself, but it's nice though.

It's worth the walk. However, it costs 5 Euros to get in and you pretty much just get some great views from the terrace and a hint of what the house was like in its heyday.

Make no mistake, it's a good, solid hike from the harbor. But the view of the harbor is incredible and worth every step of the walk. Go thru the castle to the plaza facing the centro and head for one of the corners and snap pictures like crazy. The castle itself is fairly void of period pieces but the structure... More

Do not pass on the visit to the Brown Castle. The walk up is delightful and well worth it. I really wish a English speaking guide was present as you conjur many questions on your visit.

This castle on the top of the hill is so worth the visit even if it's just for the spectacular view of Portofino
