Two sisters, Attilia and Tiba Malfanti, in 1204 , donated the this land for the construction of a female monastery of Cistercian order.
In 1572 the monastery was closed because few nuns remained and it was too far from the city.
The church vas deconsacrated in the same year.
For more than 200 years the monastery was used as residence for farmers, after this period , no one remained to live, with the total abandonment, the interperias an the vegetation have reduced the monastery in this state.

Every time it's interesting to visit a Monastero, there is a quit atmosphere, no much people, The silence of old ruins move your spirit and transferred to Zen feelings.

Very picturesque ruins, with a well preserved tower, albeit you cannot go into this. Although only spread over a small area, it is well worth a visit and would be a nice setting for a picnic and a glass of wine.

I would recommend seeing the monastery of Valle Christi at night. You can only see it from outside, but the vision of the ancient ruins lit up in the dark is absolutely worth it.
