The weather was still nice ,but not so many people are in the area,its summer place mostly, Any way the lake is gorgeous in any time if the year,the tour guides in the area are very helpful and speak good English.
Beautiful Lane a surrounding villages. Defiantly worth taking the ferry around the lake to the different villages, affordable and enjoyable. Lots to see and nice to hope on and off to explore. The ferry ran fairly frequently but it is best to check departure times...More
The ferry services on the lake are frequent and good value. This trip stops at Cannero on the way. We spent about four hours here exploring the streets of the old town and having lunch then a walk along the foreshore with a good play...More
If you are interested in history, culture and magnificent scenery this is the right place to be. Stresa with its liberty style hotels, the Isolabella with its baroque Palace, the picturesque fishermen island... Everything is perfect for a great holiday.
Just visited Lake Maggiore in the North of Italy and stayed at Villa Paradiso at Meina. What a gorgeous spot! Lovely room overlooking the lake. Clean and comfortable. Service was terrific and staff were really nice. Lots to do in the area.

Lago Maggiore in Northern Italy is the second largest lake in Italy. The shore has Italy to the south and Switzerland to the north. The town of Luino is on the Italian shore with beautiful views over the lake, a ferry, nice bars and restaurants.
We stayed in Strasa, Italy at the La Palma Hotel looking out at Lake Maggiore everyday. What a sight. We visited Borromean islands Isola Bella and Isola Madre and Pescatori (the fishermans island). Relaxing and beautiful.
