About half way up the hill of the old town is this beautiful square with a couple of restruants and views of the nearby churches and cathedral. Its a great place to chill and watch the world go by.

The tower is located in Piazza Vecchia and you can buy a ticket for the tower only or combined with the Arhaelogical Museum. We just went to the top of the tower and skipped the museum for 3 € per person. Fabulous views will open before you from the top of the tower. There are also some info boards -... More

Campanone o Torre Civica is one of those places you must do in Bergamo. To get to the view point you need to pay only 3 euro! Is that nothing compared what you getting instead. Amazing view from first and the second level. You can get to the top using stairs or, you can take a lift. One more thing!... More

A pretty high old tower placed in the main square of Citta Alta, the old part of town. The highest building in the area,as a result,a vantage point for nice views.

Counted about 250 steps - so get prepared (but there is also a lift if you are lazy or disabled). Free view from the top over the Cittá Alta, Bergamo, and all the surrounding landscape. Be aware that the bells ring every 15 minutes right above your head, no warning so it can be a really sounding surprise :P

We decided to go up the tower on a whim, but enjoyed the experience. Great views from the top and a chance to look down on the Piazza Vecchia from on high. Not very expensive either. You can take a lift if climbing the (many) stairs is too strenuous.

You can climb there or use the lift- the price is the same, and well worth it. The views are spectacular. The bell tolls quite often, you might not want to be there when it does ;-)

Depending which source you read, the Campanone tower rises between 52 to 56 meters high, by no means an impossible mission to climb. If you take the narrow elevator, you arrive at one level below the campanone with just as breathtaking view as up but reaching the top, I must caution you to mind the steep and slippery stairs!!! and...
