This is the second funicolare in Bergamo, leading up to the area of San Vigilio. It's cheap and you can use it to get to the Castello di San Vigilio from where you will see the most beautiful views of Bergamo and its surroundings. There is a terrace at the upper station of the funicolare which is also a perfect... More

You can get on the Funicular for free with the city bus ticket. I recommend getting the 2.5 euro day pass. This Funicular has much better views then the one from lower city to high city. The funicular runs every 15 minutes.

The views alone are worth the journey to the top of Bergamo Alta. There is an old castle where you can climb the tower to get the beautiful views of the mountains and the valleys. There are two restaurants near the funicular station and both have delicious sounding menus although we did not try either of them.

Children will love the ride. Views are outstanding, you do not even have to climb the castle. If you arrive to Bergamo by plane, just buy a 5 EURO 24h tickets, both funicolares are included.

Great views, price included in the Bergamo public transport ticket. If you want to buy the ticket here, there's only a machine. If you have 72-hour ticket just show it to the driver, and he/she will let you in.

On the edge of the old town, this funicular takes you up to a series of vistas of the countryside that are beautiful. Also, several nice restaurants are worth your while to investigate for lunch or dinner. Walk both ways when you get to the top to experience different views.Buy your ticket at the kiosk on the way to the station... More

Most beautiful view opens up once you reach the top. Going up, try to take the single seats on the left side (beautiful view). Couple of nice restaurant located right next to the station.

Taking the funicolare up to San Vigilio is a must at least once in the duration of your visit. Before going up, one must realize that the view on Bergamo Citta Alta is best at sunset, when the sun is behind you and the colors on the buildings turn warm amber or at night when the city is lit. During... More
