The walk to Villa Olmo from Como is attractive and pleasant. Alas, when we got there, it was a construction site and was being newly landscaped.

Currently all of the gardens are being rennovated including the Italian garden at the front of the villa and there is no public access. The works will take some time -we were told it will be finished in a year but I doubt this. So leave your visit until next year if you can. The villa is open and you... More

Taking a hired car from Bergamo Airport, we headed mountain-ward. We didn't even have a map. It was obvious where to go - you could see the Alps inviting you there. Once we arrived in Como, Villa Olmo was out first stop. The grounds are beautifully kept and there's a great little pizza/coffee place on the lake front. Inside the... More

If you will enjoy Como at its best , take your time and have a long and super pleasant walk by the lake , from downtown to Villa Olmo ; believe me it is an experience. You will caress the lake as you cannot do in any other way in town, you will splurge into gardens and views that will... More

Despite that it is beautiful, from the side facing the lake, you meed to discover a garden behind the villa. Moreover, during summer it holds apperitivo and late night parties with music ;)

This villa is worth a detour, a must see. Take your time to explore the garden and all the rooms open to the public. Napoleon was here, we were here .... Just overwhelming.

I was impressed with this villa interior. It has unbelievable frescos and paintings. The rooms are gorgeous, it is a mini Versailles. It is very unassuming though and free of charge. Nice views of Lake Como to enjoy after the visit.

Free entry, which was a bonus! We walked to the Villa from the centre of Como, it doesn't take that long and you can enjoy the views on the way. This villa must have been amazing in its day! It's empty but the ceiling art in the rooms is quite vibrant and good detail as well as the beautiful glass... More

Romantic stroll on Como. You can bring your own food 9r you can eat at the two bars located near by. It has two swimming pools on site. Excellent place to ride bikes too.
