This church is on the main road almost opposite the ferry terminal & Hotels on either side.
It's also the bus stop for the bus to Arona.
As mentioned in an earlier previous comment, it's not that much to look at but the interior is beautiful & we were waiting for the bus on Saturday morning whilst mass was going on.
We also met a nice Australian gentleman outside, Paul.

This beautiful church really was a jewel to find in the busy little town of Stresa. It was empty when we went in, and the only activity was the candles burning in front of the alter. The paintings and works of religious art were typically Italian and I was impressed by the flower arrangements which adorned the high alter. A lovely sanctuary in a busy world. The silence of this holy place made me think of the hundreds of worshipers who had entered this church over the centuries.

We popped into here whilst wandering around Stresa.
This is a really nice church. Not stunningly beautiful compared to many other Italian churches but, if it was in most other countries, it would be.
Nice little side altars. Fantastic artwork on the ceiling.
We attended mass here on the Sunday (I think the times were 8.00, 10.00, and a later one, plus I'm sure there was a Saturday evening one). There were handouts in English for the readings. Very friendly atmsophere.

This is the Parish Church of Stresa, Santi Ambrogio and Theodolo, and is opposite the waterfront of Stresa, very close to the ferry landing. It is quite a grand Church, befitting this elegant town.

Neo Classical in style, the Church was built in 1790 and has an impressive facade with two sculptures of angel musicians. The interior has some impressive paintings ( 17th century? ) , including ones of St Ambrose around the main altar. One of the side altars contains the remains of St. Vitaliano, a 10 month old baby martyred by the the Romans -- he is venerated as a protector of children.

This Church is also an important venue during the annual Stresa Music Festival, held in July-- September -- it is spacious and has excellent acoustics.

A good place to stop by as one strolls along the main street. We were fortunate to attend Sunday Mass here.

This is a large building that we have passed many times without giving a second look. The outside is very plain and doesn’t resemble a church. However, go inside and you are confronted with the most beautiful church. Definitely worth a visit.

We visited this church as it was on the main drag along the lake. It's facade is plain and uninviting but this inside was indeed interesting. I found the altar, several statues and the ceiling the most important. Definitely worth a few minutes if you are passing through the area.

Stopped in before mass and enjoyed the quiet. Beautiful artwork and religious relics throughout. Very ancient feel and yet active with various Masses. Did not note any in English but the spirit still moves me here

Very peaceful and welcoming. A typical old Catholic church full of side chapels with really inspiring paintings. We always like visiting churches for a moment of quiet in an otherwise busy day.
