The ticket price includes the garden, lovely to get away from the heat. The palace is vast and very informative even if you are not on a tour. Worth the visit if ceilings are your favourite.

One ticket gives entry to both the castle and palace. The latter is vast and conveys the granduer of the Gonzaga dukes of Mantua very well.

Buildings of Palazzo Ducale from a different time period, from XIII to XV centuries. Apartments have a lot of paintings and other work of art. The Pisanello rooms with a beautiful frescoes.

The Gorganza's were in charge at Mantua for 400 years and have left their mark with an extraordinary palace complex. the outstanding feature is the extensive wall frescos and decorated ceilings.

You book the Ducal Palace time of entry. It depends of course how long you spend in each room before you arrive at the Sposi room and they do limit your time there, although at this time of year there will be fewer visitors... More
