Top ways to experience Santa Maria delle Grazie
The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Centro Storico
The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.

Block and half of under maintained city
Feb 2021
This red brick building tells you all about Milan. A city that is in disrepair. This one and half block of Milan is ugly.

Magnificent dome
Apr 2020
This church wanted by Duke of Milan Francesco I Sforza who dedicated to St. Mary of the Graces and became the burial place of the Sforza family.
Externally you can see the two different architectural styles, the front is Roman Style but the Dome is a beatiful work of Bramante master of Renaissance.

Have to go back!
Jan 2020
The place is one of the highlights in Milan due to the last supper. We arrived there about 10.30 am on Friday; however, the next available ticket is 4pm, which was too late. It's highly suggested to book a ticket in advance.
Anyway, the area around Santa Maria della Grazie was very interesting; also, a shopping street is just nearby!

Beautiful Old Church
Nov 2019
We stopped at Santa Maria Delle Grazie. It is an old real church that had a spiritual feel. We enjoyed walking through it and it was free to enter!

One should take a photo of Holy Mary's facade in the background of its dome. The church is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and contains the mural of The Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci. One has to book in advance, many months ahead for the ticket to see The Last Supper , as you would not be able to get it on the spot at the ticket counter.

View the Last Supper Painting Here
Apr 2019
It is necessary to buy tickets online instead of walking in. A basic online ticket sold on the official website now cost €15 (it was €12 last year). This ticket will entitle you to just a 15-minute guided tour (add €3.50 surcharge). The online tickets are usually released around three months before the actual date, so be sure to keep a lookout. Otherwise, you will have to purchase tickets from third-person vendors, which will definitely cost much more.

The tour will lead you to the refectory of the Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie, where you will admire two paintings by Da Vinci - the Last Supper and the Crucifixion. Of course, the former will be the main highlight for most people. Make the best of your time inside. Thankfully, phototaking is allowed.

Stunning
Mar 2019
Besides the fact that it houses Leonardo's "Last Supper" in its dining room, this church (and Dominican convent) is equally stunning and beautiful outside and inside - interesting architecture, beautiful murals and nicely decorated vaulted ceilings. If you plan to see the famous painting, you'd better book in advance although sometimes last-minute tickets are available if you go there early.

Must see
Dec 2019 • Couples
We visited to see the Last Supper. Although most places say you need to book months in advance, there are often tickets available from the ticket office outside the church each morning - you just need to get there early in the morning and then you avoid paying the booking fee. Obviously not a guarantee, but worth checking if you were unable to book in advance. It’s well planned, they only let a few people in at a time so it doesn’t get really crowded. It’s incredible to see the painting on the plaster in its original location.

The last Supper is here,
Nov 2019
We took a great tour to see I’ll Cenacolo and the last supper. It was an amazing day to see and walk through the. Hutch and to finally be able to see in person “The Last Supper”. The whole wall was adorned with the painting and you can see the history in pictures and videos of the painting
