The Duomo, symbol of Milan in the world, is one of the largest cathedrals...

The Duomo, symbol of Milan in the world, is one of the largest cathedrals in Italy and Europe. Patrimony of Milanese people and humanity, over the centuries it has been expressing, with its magnificence, the devotion of humanity toward the Divine, involving future generations in an endless commitment. The Milan Cathedral, besides being an artistic monument, is a privileged place of prayer, deeply linked to the memory and teachings of the Bishops who succeeded on St. Ambrose's chair, and to the history of the millions of worshippers who, every year, gather in this place to celebrate the Sacred Mysteries. The Cathedral is the mother Church of the Diocese, having a symbolic role of exemplarity both in the life of the city worship, and in relation with the Diocese activity.

Wait wait wait. That's all I remember. Saver yourself form it and avoid to buy the ticket. Wait like 30min for buying ticket. Wait another 45 to access the terraces and another 45 for accesing the cathedral. Ridiculous

No matter how you choose to go up to the roof top (stairs or lift) you will see that it's worth it, the stone work is astonishing, it's something that you won't be able to forget even if you try. The view of Milan's skyline is beautiful. There's a lot to do and see in Milan, but this has to... More

The church is unbelivable it is so big Iit was hard to picture how much labor it took over the years. It is amazing. It is another church but this is like no other because of the magnitude of it. The rooftop if very cool, you can see up close the details of the church, so many details, no wonder... More

Duomo di Milano Is a very interesting place to visit even if you are not religious. The architecture alone is impressive but it must be the top 10 things to see in Milan if you happen to be there

Loveltly vibrant atmosphere, It has a lot more life than the duomo in Cologne. There is also police presence which makes you feel more safe.

The building outside is impressive and grande. I like the whiteness of the stone used and I do not like dark tones in buildings.

Staying in Centro Storico

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro Storico
The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.
