The Pinacoteca Ambrosiana is a beautiful and unique gem hidden just off the beaten path of Milan tourist attractions, and you shouldn't miss it! While it starts off like an ordinary art museum with paintings and statues, you soon find yourself in beautifully preserved Borromeo...More

This gallery has a superb collection of old masters - several Tinterettos , Raphael, Botticellis and of course Caravaggio. Unfortunately the presentation of the pictures is rather dated. and needs to be brightened up.

I wanted to visit that museum to see some of Leonardos work. It is a nice museum but with little handcrafts from Leonardo. We payed 15€ per Person without an audio guide. This is really expensive.

Visited to view the Leonardo Codex however very dissapointed how little is on display. The shop however sells pictures and so on of his sketches not displayed. Rather than display the 'famous' tanks or such drawings they display predominantly written text from the codex with...More

This is one of my favorite places, and I visit it each time I'm in Milan. Besides Leonardo's Codex Atlanticus and Young Musician, it contains the full-size cartoon (drawing) done by Raphael of the School of Athens, although it was being restored, in the room...More

There is a lot to see here, only you cant take pictures. My favorite - a strand of Lucretia Borgia's hair. There is three floors. If you must use the toilet, go before starting the tour, it is too complicatet to get back after.

I used an audio guide on one visit. I have moderate art background but found it useful. I also like exploring slowly, since the guide doesn't cover everything. I would definitely recommend one, depending on your own... More
