Amazing church.

This is one of the most impressive rοmanesque basilicas of Pavia. The visit was definitely worthwhile. A monument that should certainly see.

Whilst the Duomo was a bit of a let down, San Michel mad up for it. It is difficult to describe how beautiful this ancient basilica is. Just marvel at the outside before stepping in and being blown away. Loved it!!!!! To bad there was no guided tour.

A truly stunning medieval building both inside and out. The whole neighbourhood is full of surprises and great to wander round.

This is one of the masterpieces of romanesque architecture. One of those you study in textbooks. If you happen in Pavia even for a short trip, this is the second thing you are supposed to visit (after the nearby ice-cream place "Gelateria da Cesare"). The general construction is impressive. An accurate visit will allow you to discover several intriguing details,... More

I was born and I live in Pavia. Not because this church is in my town, but I think that this is one of the best example of romantic church not only in Italy, but also in Europe. It is really worth to be visit: give a look inside but also to the sculptures outside. Wonderful

the very church where Charlemagne and Frederic Barberousse were crowned kings of the lombards! while the front wall is typically lombard of shape, it is built of stone rather than red brick, that made it quite unic.My favourit church in Pavia.

I recently visited this church located in the historic center of the city. Free entrance and I could see that nicely this was the only church open during lunch time, which is unusual. The church itself is very beautiful, the beautiful facade is already enough to be fascinated by her beauty, in the Romanesque style it is very well preserved.... More
