What a lovely feature. A great way to see the guts of Turin in the lovely old rickety tram. A day pass is easy to buy from the station or bars/Tabacs (old fashioned way).

The line 7 actually travels around the old town in a comfortable way. The classic sights are covered. Weak points: no ticket sales in the tram! Shopping in the station is difficult (in the subway at the vending machine). Alternatively there is the Tourist Information at the station. A pity too: the tram travels far too rarely. First we didn't have a ticket, then a ticket and the tram didn't go - so we made the city tour on foot. We would have got in at the final stop, but would have had to wait 30 minutes again. It's a pity, and unfortunately we should plan this well.

The historic tram No 7 is centrally located and departs every 30 min from Piazza Castello. It is a very enjoyable way to see the city, free of charge with this old fashioned tram. We took it morning and afternoon and it was a very pleasant ride through Turin's attractions and landmarks.

Looks great. But changes the pick-up point without notice. There are no information points indicating where the stop is. Staff are arrogant. For a service supposedly targetted at tourists there is no attempt at ALL to commmunicate in anything but Italian. And rude in the process. Much better uses of your time and money.

We were eager to take a ride on this train and were told it only operates on weekends. On Saturday evening, the nice people at the information booth at Porta Nuova station told us the schedule seemed to have change unexpectedly and that they didn't see it running near the station at all that day. On Sunday, the train was running and we went to the stop slightly ahead of 15:40 (the scheduled time was 15:46) and saw it rolling in towards the stop. The driver clearly saw us but never stopped. We took a bus to Piazza Castello, hoping to catch it there, but again, it didn't stop at all and was running empty. Disappointed, we took another tram back towards Porta Nuova and were walking towards the tram stop, hoping to catch the 16:46 tram, only to miss it again, this time around 16:35. Definitely not worth the trouble!
