Roman archaelogical excavation

It is a little bit difficult to find the place, because there is a small sign guiding you. Once you arrive the piazza cesare, look for a sign that leads you to downstairs!

I have realized by chance about this location, but I have been very positively surprised when I visited it. Extremely well presented, very well kept, it is really interesting to see the ancient story of the city. Really something I was not expecting!!

This place is truly a hidden gem in the midst of modern day Trento. Before you visit the site, I would advise you to go see the 3D movie. That gives you an excellent idea of what the site originally looked like. Wherever parts of the original site are missing, modern structures fill in the gaps elegantly, softly guiding you... More

I'm an archaeologist, but I think anyone would thoroughly enjoy a trip below ground to explore the Roman world of Tridentum (ancient Trento). The price is very inexpensive (2.5 adult, 1.5 student), and the museum is well worth the time and money. They have nice displays with good general information, contextualizing you in the ancient city from views of the... More

The excavations of the old Roman city underneath Piazzqa Cesare Battista are definately worth a visit. Although the museum is (very) small, it gives a good impression of the Roman Trento Visit the Buonconsiglio Castle first, since the ticket will be cheaper with the reduction voucher you get there (€ 1 instead of € 2).
