What an incredible cathedral- I was able to experience it both as an attendee of Mass and also toured a bit afterwards with my husband and family. There are several relics within the building, the architecture is beautiful, and it has incredible intricate designs. The Mass was beautiful as well, even though I only understood a little bit (My husband... More

Visited several times, once as a tourist, more times just to witness the popularity of this Basilica as a place of worship. The tomb of St Antony is set to the left side of the Basilica, and believers touch the purple slab to the rear of the tomb, or place both hand palms according to their own practice or need.... More

Graet cathedral with a huge nave lavishly decorated. St Antony is buried there. It was a bit embarrassing when I approached his tomb from the opposite direction as people form a line to pray there and the entry point is clearly marked

when you come to Padua this is a mandatory stop. Pilgrims from all over the world come here - on June the 13th (St.Anthony feast) the entire city stops for the number of visitors.

The church is a walking distance from the downtown. Inside is very beautiful like many churches in Padova/Italy.

This magnificent and large pilgrimage church is filled with beautiful paintings, sculpture, and relics. As photography is not allowed I recommend buying a book though none of them covered all the paintings. There is a lovely listening chapel where people can express their concerns. In another chapel, a priest was there to give a blessing. One large chapel was for... More

Right after St. Antonio's death, he was granted sainthood. The romanesque/gothic style of this church is breathtaking both outside and inside. Building began in 1231. More of Donatello's work is found inside - a crufix near the altar as well as a bronze of Mary and saints. St. Anthony's tomb is well loved by visitors from all over the world.... More

The basilica was very nice and I visited the tomb of Saint Anthony, the history and life struggle of St. Anthony well elucidated in the tour that we took. A must see for devotees of Saint Anthony and for all Catholics
