We had the Baptistery to ourselves and it is beautiful. The building is perfect, the frescoes glorious. To be able to sit quietly and take in all the beauty of the place was wonderful. A must see but aim to be there early or late...More

Not nearly as crowded as the Scrovengi Chapel but just as stunning. The frescoes are by Giusto De Menabuoi in 1376/78 have been scrupulously restored, most recently in 1972. We were allowed to take photographs but without flash. Recently featured in a visit by Andrew...More

My husband had the Padova card, so he was admitted free. I did not get the card, so I had to pay 3 Euros. Quite honestly, I had seen enough religious art to fill me for this visit and seeing the size of the building,...More

The Battistero del Duomo is a very worthwhile stop in Padua. Every inch of the interior is covered with beautiful frescoes - the masterpiece of Giusto de 'Menabuoi dating back to the 1300s. Sadly, no photos are allowed but it is not to be missed!

Very spectacular place to visit, one big space but what an art all around. I was lucky , it was late evening and there were no people there, place was just for myself.

In contrast to the rather stark whitewashed baroque cathedral next door this is a slightly dimmed riot of colour - fresco cycles from twelfth century of St. John the Bastia, our lady and Christ. The batistry has been knocked about a bit over he centuries...More

It doesn't look much from the outside, but on the inside it's quite stunning. Pretty well-preserved medieval frescoes on the ceiling and all the walls. Well worth the entry fee (or free if you've bought a PadovaCard).

This small Bapitstery has the advantage of being open all day, unlike the Cathedral. It is typical of the bapisteries to be found in Italy's cathedral cities. It has frescoes by Giusto de' Menabuoi and soem of these show the original cathedral. The entrance fee...More

I don't know where to start. You enter and the frescos are everywhere. Unrelenting total visual experience. The history and religious devotedness is an incredible experience. The entry times are not really adhered to so just ask to go in. You will not be disappointed.

The Duomo itself isn't as interesting as the Battistero, with its frescoes and ceiling painting. Worthwhile.
