I recently went to the Impressionism exhibit at the Museo di Santa Caterina, and was enjoyed the variety of quality works on display, including Renoir, Monet, Gauguin and more. There are remnants of the original frescos in this old church can still be seen.

I visited this terrific Museum recently and love its exhibitions of Impressionists. The show was extremely well organized but it was focused on background and influences more than actual presentation of the great work of French/British impressionism. Possibly they did so because they were able to assemble a limited final number of works to create the exhibition and opted to... More

The special exhibit on Impressionism was very large and well done. There were many works that represented the various artists very well, along with some that were interesting because they were not what one thinks about a particular artist. Well worth the visit. The writeups in each room tended to be too long, and the museum was crowded, but it... More

Unfortunately we were not interested in the Escher exhibition and the rest of the exhibits were rather second rate and dreary. I had managed to stagger to the top of a steep staircase and the art works were really not worth the effort. The Titian was on loan to somewhere or other and works which had once been housed at... We were drawn to the museum for the Escher exhibition. Staff were very helpful & we found the displays to be very well presented. Staff were keen for us to ensure we saw all that the museum had on offer (not just Escher), and between our limited Italian and one particularly wonderful staff member's limited English, we managed to have... Well worth visiting. Went to see the Escher exhibition, which proved a big hit with teenager present! Rather expensive, especially the 'reduced' ticket. Some (most) staff polite and helpful, but apparently no English spoken. We were asked where we were from and when we answered that one of us was English and one Italian, a male member of staff proceeded... More

This museum currently hosts an extensive well presented exhibition on the Dutch artist Escher. It also has a small permanent collection. The place is well organized and modern. You can also visit the old Church of Santa Caterina and it's interesting frescoes

First time we tried to go it was closed , but had heard it was good so made time on our second day in Treviso to check it out. It was worth it . I am not sure if we were lucky but we were given a guided tour by a young lady who worked there She just made the... More

We enjoyed very much this museum and its variety, from ancien artifacts to modern painting and sculpture, and a beautifully restored church. Wegot to see paintings by local artists that we did not know and liked a lot.

The fresco cycle is a bit of a hidden gem, as Santa Caterina seems to be slightly off the 'main drag', but definitely worth a visit. There weren't many visitors when we were there, so we were followed round the rest of the museum by a couple of attendants who turned the lights out behind us as we progressed through... More
