The long line to get into the cathedral was really quite fast - 20 minutes at the most. However, be aware - no backpacks or photography are allowed inside. Women need to bring a scarf to cover their shoulders, and short skirts will require you...More

The line looked long at first but was quick. The people seemed confused on how to cover their European selfs. (Cover for Holy ground). It was a fast little trip that moved well and didn't have to wait long. The highlight was paying a little...More

We have visited twice before , the last time being about 7 years ago. Since then it has become way too touristy. It felt like a conveyer belt walking around. You have to pay to go into extra areas. Tourists do not observe silence. It...More

Booking in advance is essential unless you want to risk the queues. Of course, the better parts inside are additionally charged, but worth it. Great views of St Mark's Square from the balcony.

First thing to remember is that you have to where appropriate clothing to enter the Basilica: shoulders covered and bottoms covering your knees. We were prepared for this but we saw tourists being turned away although they do offer scarfs to cover your shoulders. It...More

The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one
of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza

clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops,
orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand
