Walking east from the Rialto Bridge area, you will need a map to find your way through the narrow streets, in a hidden narrow alley, you then walk-into “Corte del Milion” a very small square where Marco Polo lived. It got its name from the...More

We were taken to the houses of Venetian and great explorer Marco Polo and his family (not far from the Rialto Bridge) as part of our free walking tour and it is fascinating to see the original features of the building still intact. Not many...More

During our walking tour of Venice, our guide Simone said there are many houses that claim to be the one of Marco Polo. The original house burned in 1597 and a theater was built in its place. You will find plagues throughout the city stating...More

Shown to us by our gondolier, this house has a plaque on its wall indicating it to be a home of Marco Polo and is easier seen from the canal than by foot. If I understood correctly it is or has been renovated but is...More

You half expect the house of such an important traveller to be prominent and famous but instead it is marked only by a small plaque and is located in a discreet square close to the Teatro Maliban. No museum and no chance to visit inside...More

I wanted to visit the famous house of Marco Polo in Venice ( very few show any interest) . It's almost fifteen minute's walk from Piazza San Marco. The house is beside a narrow canal and you can visit by a water taxi or gondola....More

The Marco Polo's Home is not a museum, but only a building located on the place where it supposed to live the great Marco Polo. Today, only a small sign above the entrance reminds every tourist about the importance of this place, but nothing else...More

Thanks for Netflix, i had some historical information about Marco Polo and his exploits in the Far East. It is a normal or typical house but with huge historical significance...our gondolier pointed this out during our canal ride.

This place is so hard to find if you don't get proper instructions. Our disappointing gondolier (black and white stripes) did not give us any info on our ride, so we had to find it on foot. If you are coming from San Marco, you...More

Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated
within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over
one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime
neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side
streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals
