Ideal location, as accommodation/restaurants far cheaper than main Venice area, but hotel/restaurant quality/value for money superior. Pace far slower/less busy so felt far more relaxed, yet easy access via hotel shuttle bus/Vaporetto taxi.

Not much to see or do but our hotel was situated here. There was a shuttle to the main island every 20 minutes

After travelling a few countries it was nice to be able to enjoy a slower paced Venice without the crowds. Only a 10 minute boat ride to St Marks Square which we enjoyed early morning then returned to Guidecca when crowds peaked. We will come...More

Perfect spot to get away from the busy-ness of San Marco. You get a full view of the skyline, and quiet cafes to enjoy well priced ice creams and take it all in. This was a highlight of our trip for sure and we cannot...More

This island seems to be getting some upgrades. Also seems to be where people of Venice live. Nice to walk the island.

This Island is different from the main parts of Venice. It offers you convenience by taking frequent water buses to anywhere else in Venice And you can have a quiet meal here away from the hoards. For self caterers there are all facilities.

Stayed at Hilton Molino Stucky with a river view ... well worth it. Less chaotic and local riverfront restaurants. Easy ACTV boats to San Marco. Great rooftop pool. Would stay here again. Here's a pic of our room view.

We were a bit disappointed that our Air B & B was not in Venice but across the water. However the water taxis ran frequently and we found some very nice spots to eat and drink here. I think it is up and coming

Not far from St Marks Square you can cross to this island by gondola for 2 euros. Alternatively you can get a water bus or walk over the bridge. Lovely little island with lots to see and do. We went to the Damien Hirst Treasures...More

Great views of the architecture, water, boats, and adjacent islands. Loved the people watching opportunities and the photo opportunities.

Giudecca is a retreat for Venetians away from the
crowds. Symbolically, six metal teeth represent
Venice’s six sestieri (districts); the seventh,
Guidecca, points away from the others – part of
Dorsoduro, but separated by the Giudecca Canal.
Giudecca evolved from a center of shipyards and
factories to a quiet residential area with a
sprinkling of restaurants and bars. The majestic
