The brenta canal was one of the main accesses from Padova to Venice. Along its banks the architect Palladio constructed a series if villas to be used as summer homes by the Venetian aristocracy. a wonderful river, saw by boat, gondola or bike.... My favourite tours are from Mira Taglio, the fish market in Dolo to the huge Villa Pisani, with its labyrinth, or to Malcontenta, then Fusina ferry boat to Lido's beach and return. I rarely write reviews but this trip with Il Burchiello really merits it. Everything was excellent - we started from Venice at 9 in the morning, leaving San Marco square behind us and passing through the venetian lagoon.
