Forget queuing for the tower in St Marks Square instead take public vaparetto here & take the lift up to the steeple( speedy & no queuing!) for magnificent 360 degree views. Wonderful!!

Apart from the stunning views of San Marco from the campanile of San Giorgio Maggiore, the little square right in front and the facade of the church offer a delightful experience. Allow more time as there is a walk behind the church. This used to...More

Lift up the tower to take photos of Venice. Not much else to do on this island as what looks to be gardens on the map are not accessible to the public.

We went here specifically to go up the tower for the view. Well worth the $6(lift access only). I think it would be better than the basilica and had no queues at all! Oh and the bells actually work so if you have sensitive hearing...More

Having purchased the water bus 48 hour ticket this was an easy journey - 6 Euro charge to go to the top of the bell tower is well worth it - the best view of Venice! Then of the island and Guidecca too - brilliant!...More

Went here for a conference held on the island - the facilities were superb - ancient old buildings! Also visited the beautiful church, but the highlight was going up the tower - it has an elevator and you can't climb the stairs, but the view...More

Loved seeing the city from this campanile (tower) Its so much more quiet over here and easy to stroll along the waterfront. There are some unique exhibits in the church and you are riding a different waterbus with more locals .

We always buy a vaporetto ticket for the week we are staying in Venice so I am not sure about the ruling on two separate trips. I my view it is probably just as cheap to buy a day ticket and you would be able to hop on and... More
