San Giorgio Maggiore is one of the islands of Venice. The Church with the same name was built in the 14th century. It belongs to Benedictine Monastery. Designed by Palladio the church is an attraction of Renaissance architecture. It's Bell tower has 9 bells.

the island is short vaporetto ride costs 10 euros return each 6 euros for the bell tower man what a view 360 degrees worth every cent after your finished at the tower have wander around the grounds

You definitely need a ticket for both outward & return journey on the vaporetto; I'm not sure as to the exact cost, but we bought a one-way ticket for another stop & it was €7.50... it's more than likely that to purchase 2... More

Looking towards San Marco the sun rises on the right (depending on time of year around 5:30/600:am June) and will be behind you by around midday. As such the whole Marco basin will be in sunlight. For future reference search... More
