We liked Mazzorbo. It's easier to get off the water taxi from Venice here, compared to Burano. The crowd was smaller, and the gardens were nice to walk through. Good restaurant options, too, and it's just a quick walk to Burano's colorful homes and busier...More

A short ferry ride from the hustle and bustle of crowded Venice, the island of Mazzorbo makes an ideal spot for a relaxing stroll. We got off the ferry there, then entered Burano by crossing a picturesque wooden bridge that connects the adjacent islands. Each...More

It was a hot day and we had spare time so we wandered through this colourful and very tidy cemetery. It was like a wee village with people tending the resting place of their families - very peaceful and lovely monuments.

Great place to beat the Venice crowds and get some relaxation in. We stayed on the island for two nights and it was quiet and relaxing. There is not much on the island but it is very picturesque to walk around.

This island north of Venice takes about 50 mins by Vaporetto from the city. It is well worth a visit, beautiful little canals with small hump bridges across. Probably not possible to get lost here as it is quite small and you can end up...More

Only 350 people live on the island, the population swells to about 400 in the summer. There are some shops and restaurants but most people visit to get away from the crowds. It is connected to another small island across the channel by Ponte Longo,...More

We deliberately got off the waterbus on Mazzorbo as we were getting tired of standing for so long (no seats free!). A pleasant walk led us through a vineyard to the bridge over to Burano.
