great collection of greek-orthodox icons, gorgeous greek ceramics

This museum has a very interesting selection of greek-orthodox icons, which by themselves are worth a visit. There was a gorgeous temporary exhibit of greek ceramics too.

This was a surprising find and exceeded all our expectations. We spent a whole afternoon there. It’s included in the Vicenza Museum Card, which – alone, in my view – makes the card a good buy. We really liked everything the museum had to offer – the ancient Grecian pottery, the paintings and the icons. The paintings are what one... More

Russian icons in Vicenza? Yes, and it is a superb collection from the 15th century onwards. We only had time to see one part of the collections in this building, so the Boss said, "Russian Icons", and who am I to disagree? I see from some (much more knowledgeable) Russian visitors that this is a great collection: we really enjoyed... More

This is one of the best private galleries I have visited. Peaceful and well laid out with good facilities and an excellent shop. Some excellent artwork including great pictures/views of Venice.

After several trips to Italy I can honestly say this is one of my top ten Gallerias I have ever seem..it is organized so nicely that you feel very calm and relaxed stroll though the rooms. Looking up at the ceilings you won't believe your eyes. They have mixed the old world with the new. It was breath taking. This... More

This museum is extremely well designed and has three areas of focus: Stunning ancient Greek kraters XVIIIth century Italian paintings And a very large and well displayed collection of Russian icons said to be the largest outside of Russia. To top it off it is located in a rococo palace full of frescoes and sculptures worth a visit in band... More

We purchased the Vicenza Museum card, admission was included, but we hadn't thought to visit this one. Very glad now that we did, this is a hidden gem, in a city seemingly filled with hidden gems. A beautiful building and collection, with rotating special exhibits. Don't overlook this just because it's not Palladio.

Being primarily drawn to visit the galleries because of the exhibition of the Russian icons, we purchased Vicenza's Museum Card (€15) and were stunned to discover that the palace has a lot to offer. Surprisingly, this is the only baroque building in Vicenza, mainly because the Leoni Montanari family wanted to break out of the classical outlook of the aristocracy.... More
