As a Church, San Sepulcro is magnificent, and well worth a visit, but the crypt, down steep steps, is particularly worth the visit and reveals something of its past function as a place of burial for the city poor.
There are many interesting things to see in this old church: the nave, the big side chapel, which is almost like a nave in itself, the crypt and, only as a guided visit, some Paleo-Christian ruins in the sacristy ... very interesting. A donation is...More
This old church was very interesting in its own right but was further enhanced by a fine collection of icons and other orthodox paraphenalia. Like all old churches, you can spend ages there if you have the interest and minutes if you don't.
The church is near to where I was staying, and it is a Church full of history (like all of them) directly speaking at you. The church is quaint and I visited twice to be able to understand more about it.
Chiesa di San Sepolcro is located in the piazza with the same name and what I found interesting was that there was quite some movement in front of it, as opposed to other churches in Cagliari that seemed to be so quiet. Groups of youngsters...More
