This ancient well from the early 17 century is emblematic of Sassari. It is pretty and should be looked after more lovingly as it is an important monument in Sassari. Located on the outskirts of the old town. It is difficult to park nearby and the dryers leading down to the well are overgrown with weeds. Over to you Council!

Worth a detour from the centre and the steep walk down. It appears to have been well restored. The slight issue is that you have constant road noise. The ladies offer a brief guide in various languages including English.

It was a bit awkward finding it. As stated under a main road bridge. It was not open and was under a lot of scaffolding. What you could make out would be a very fine peice af architecture. Lets hope it gets finished, as the local that directed us was obviously very proud of the area.

Disappointed to find it inaccessible as it seems to be under restoration. A good thing for the city but pity as we went in search of it. As described it in a neglected bit if greenery by a flyover. Sure it will be great in time again!

The fountain is at the bottom of a hill, almost under a large bridge. The fountain was a bit dirty with algae growing on some parts. There was no entrance fee, but no facilities or information at the fountain.

A nice symbol of the city. Unfortunately, it lies almost abandoned in the dirt, at the bottom of a valley.

Sassari was build around a powerful aquifer and the Rosello fountain has always been the main symbol of the town until recently. Unfortunately, the urbanization of the olive groves around the town, which imply a well and a septic tank for each house, i.e. pulling up clean water from the aquifer and giving back to the aquifer polluted water...
