6,000 years of history in one building!

I had no preconceptions; I came through the entrance, having glanced through the windows from the street and having some time to spare. I stayed for over two hours. It's... read more

Stumbled upon the Parco Acheologico site, took a self guided tour. Really neat historical site to visit, lots of history

Such a spectacular setting for a large ancient building well worth a visit, always busy but especially so in the mid morning period.

This place is fantastic.  It's a must see on your trip to Catania. Well worth the six euro entry fee.  Loads of history and if it's a hot day the corridors under the theatre are nice and cool.

This is an amazing place, because you wouldn't expect it, when you enter from the main access on a very common Catanian road, you enter the door and find yourself mids a great Greek Roman theater.

Easily the best place to visit in Catania! How this theatre isn't higher on the lists confounds me. Hidden behind a row of totally" normal" house fronts is the most amazing hidden gem. A beautiful and well-preserved Greco-Roman theatre complete with the water-moat for performances was incredible. Loved, loved, loved this place

You could walk right past the glass doors without knowing the treasures lurking behind. We did and had to retrace our steps to find it but once you do the theater and the Odeon, not to mention the aqueducts, are better than anticipated. Plan for at least 2 hours of roaming about looking through the ruins and taking photos. You... More

This was a park not far from Catania that was a Greek stadium and eco park. It was clean, a nice walk through the gardens.

I had no preconceptions; I came through the entrance, having glanced through the windows from the street and having some time to spare. I stayed for over two hours. It's impossible from the street to tell just how extensive this archeological wonder is! Traces of human occupation go back to prehistoric times and visitors are left to explore, without security... Wonderful place located in Piazza Repubblica. I was during St. Agatha festivities there, but it was looking marvelous from distance.

Interesting place to visit when you're in Catania. This theatre is covered between buildings and in rather good shape. A lot of places to acces in the theater and the corridors arround.
