Very interesting

The entrance is free and the guides are extremely well prepared and make The visit worthwhile even if you are not passionate about etnography. The museum is next to The bourbon king's hunting lodge (palazzina cinese) in a nice park.

Understanding Sicily
Mar 2015 • Friends
This is a good museum for getting a social perspective on Sicilian social life over a historical period. The displays give you a sense of life on the island before the present time, something the grand churches will never give you. Although many of the objects turn up in shops in various forms for sale to tourists, this museum gives you a sense of what they meant "then".

The museum is close to the "Palazzina Cinese", so you should visit the 2 of them at the same time.
Museo Pitrè is really very interesting and there are a couple of tour guides that will help you understand exactly what you are seeing.
It was such an unexpected surprise. A must see.

To know history
If you are interested in traditions and you want to learn more about Sicilian culture then the Museum is the place for you. There is a lot to see and it is definitely a great place but go with an open mind.
